Berrie
Berrie are the most experienced of the Make Your Mark in Fashion finalists.
All three members have worked in the fashion industry but their particular interests have taken them in very different directions. Deborah Luffman studied fashion design but her keen interest in social sustainability has, amongst other things, seen her working in South America as a volunteer learning from farmers and traditional crafts people. Claire Alderdice has applied her textile design background to creating exciting and quirky interior spaces, whilst Lisa Mcalinden takes her training in textiles in an entirely different direction by specialising in knitwear and jersey. Berrie is a an exciting amalgamation of the work and influences of all three of the team members and this shines through in the principles and practices laid out in their proposal.

Lisa, Deborah & Claire
The key to the Berrie brand ethos is to have fun whilst offering high quality and sustainability in equal measure. The Berrie range will feature beautiful original prints, vintage styling, and luxury fabrics including hemp blends and organic knitwear sourced from socially sustainable co-operatives both locally and in the developing world. The team chose Enamore as their mentor because of a shared passion for vintage styling and Burlesque, creating fashion which is playful but wearable. With a rapidly expanding customer base, Enamore have been looking to extend their collection and Berrie presented exactly the kind of concept and design work they wanted to develop. It’s a meeting of minds and the results should be pretty special!
